Syracuse was up 45-28 at halftime, but the Eagles went on a 14-1 run to start the second half. Only two Eagles scored in double digits, but both Dontavia Waggoner and Teya Sidberry had huge performances. They combined for 56 of Boston College’s 76 points, shooting 21-of-40 (52.5%) from the field and 14-of-17 (82.3%) from the free throw line. They also came down with a combined 26 rebounds, six less than what Syracuse’s entire team had. The Eagles had 27 rebounds in the second half compared to the Orange’s 12. Syracuse was more efficient from the field than BC, but the problem was Waggoner and Sidberry’s offensive rebounds. They had 15 combined, and that translated to 15 second chance points in the final two quarters. Boston College faced the Tar Heels back on Jan. 19, losing 80-67 after leading by three at halftime.
