Two teams that have struggled out of the gate in the 2025 season meet up on Sunday afternoon just outside the Windy City, as the Chicago Stars host Racing Louisville. Chicago came into the new season with limited expectations, especially since U.S. Women’s National Team star Mallory Swanson is out of action due to personal reasons. It certainly affected how the Stars have looked in the first couple of matches, losing to the Houston Dash last week in their home opener, an improvement from the 6-0 thrashing they suffered at the hands of the Orlando Pride in week one. The Stars are the only team to have lost their first two contests in 2025. Louisville might not have lost both of its matches so far, but after a tough draw against the North Carolina Courage in the club’s season opener, they were on the wrong end of a 2-0 decision last Saturday against Bay FC.
