Wokorach wants Uganda All Stars to give Blackrock a competitive game

The Uganda All Stars management officially unveiled Kevin Makmot as the Head Coach of the team to face the Blackrock College RFC, and the evergreen Michael Wokorach as the Captain of the squad. The Uganda All Stars, as the name suggests, is going to be a combination of former, current and future Uganda rugby stars from the 7s and 15s teams, including some of the players from the recently concluded Rugby Africa Cup squad. The game slated for Saturday, 16th August, 2025 at Kyadondo Rugby Club shall mark the official start of the Blackrock in Uganda tour that is going to run until Friday, 22nd August, 2025 in Jinja when it climaxes with the official launch of Kakira Simbas Rugby Football Club and a fan Rugby 7s tournament of local and traveling fans and a few select rugby clubs. Although the squad is still unknown to the general public, Coach Makmot has hinted at an exciting inclusion in his squad. When asked for a surprise inclusion, he wasn’t shy to throw Sylvester Munguacel’s name in the conversation. Makmot shall be assisted by Arthur Ngoloobi, fondly known as Coach Kapale. Captain fantastic, Michael Wokorach, who has been a skipper at national and club level, couldn’t hide his elation at the prospect of leading out another strong squad for a tournament. “I am excited for this great opportunity to captain this Uganda All Stars side, I think the coaches know my ability and that is the reason why they have given me this task ahead.” Wokorach is well aware of the challenge ahead, which he describes as “a strong Irish Blackrock side. Tickets for the Irish Blackrock Vs Uganda All Stars are available at only 10,000 Uganda Shillings for ordinary, 50,000 Shs and 100,000 Shs for VIP and VVIP tickets respectively. A look into Blackrock College RFC legacy Blackrock College Rugby Football Club (RFC) was founded in 1882, making it one of the oldest senior rugby clubs in Ireland. Although the club was originally established by former pupils of Blackrock College, today it is a very open community club. Blackrock College RFC has strong ties with Leinster and Irish rugby through its history and player production. Many players from Blackrock College RFC have gone on to represent Leinster and Ireland, and the club itself has a long-standing tradition of success in Leinster competitions. The club also has a direct link with the school, Blackrock College, which is renowned for its rugby program that has produced international stars like Hugo Keenan, Brian O’Driscoll and Gavin Mullin.
