Seriously, that site is sketchy as all hell. I don't want to think what it would do to an unprotected browser. The equivalent of raw-dogging a dockside whore the night after shore leave.

I've noticed a trend.
This site repeats what Fox News and the NY Post say, frequently.

I was raised in an invalidating environment, and when I started to think about how I was never allowed to have emotions, I realized that this was how it was for most men. They're never allowed to have their feelings. Not as little boys and not when they grow up. The worst part is realizing that it's partly women in the role of mothers reinforcing these ideas. I know it's clichéd to blame everything wrong with men on their mothers, but sometimes it really is their mothers. They think they're doing what's best for their kid, but all they do is emotionally cripple them for life. It's heartbreaking. I have so much respect and sympathy for the men who managed to overcome that kind of upbringing to become emotionally whole people. Society does this to men, and we all make up society. So how do we stop it? Or are the kids already making some headway against it?

Sure the poor mankeepers. How sad. But you keep one woman in your basement...

Whatever you do men, don't have emotions. And if you do, by God, do not share them.

I'm guessing the article starts with a phone sized clip art of a woman being peeved. After the initial nebulous definition, it explains that many women are experiencing this, then trails off as there's no way to quantitize made up trends. Finally the reader is left with an unsettled feeling that the underpinnings were misleading.

Don't make someone say "Sir, this is an Arby's" on the first date. Even if it's at Arby's.

Then: Men need to share more and become fully emotionally engaged with their partners. "
Now: "Why does he think I want to hear him share every pointless detail of his life?"

Maybe some of these ladies should stop doing the over-protective-girlfriend schtick and let
their guy off the leash to do something with people that aren't NECESSARILY you, and have interests
that aren't shared. Don't want a ball and chain? then unlock the lock..

Or only share them with the therapist to get decent meds to deal with the depression that comes from the habit of regularly burying opinion and emotion. Unlearning that habit sucks. A lot.
Alternative: scream into the void.

Yeah, it only took me like 20 years after walking out of the house to feel comfortable putting my hand on somebody.
That wasn't a lover or naked or whatever.
I guess I'm OK with that these days friends kid can jump up into my lap without me wanting to have to push them off.
Totally love getting and giving a hug...
But that wasn't how I was raised.
Buck it up... fu I'm not 10 with a skinned knee.
And I've always had a good platonic relationship with women in my adult life.
Like three of my best friends, and we shared stories and helped each other.
Yeah, I think that dude is a dick and you have any single friends.?.

Once upon a time, many years ago it was decided that anger is the only emotion men are allowed to show. Now everything is all farked up. The end.

not really.
a few comments about the website
a few comments about the word mantending
one comment from a woman that seems considered and thoughtful
a few comments about "ladies make up your mind". which seems not terrible in this situation, but what do i know, im a man. 🤷♂
off to see the rest of the thread degenerate into horribleness.

Interesting observations here. Get back to me when men in long term relationships, can unprompted: remember birthdays, or anniversaries, yours and his family. Buy or make the cake for the party he's planned all on his own. Host a dinner party for friends he's done all the cooking. Cleaning because it needs to be done. Explain why buying stupid shiate is totally important. If there's a good relationship with his mother, call her. Have a wide group of friends. If you feel pissy/grumpy, be able to explain yourself and not use a dismissive grunt or start yelling.
It seems to me there are a lot of lonely men on Fark.

What is 'Mankeeping'?
'Mankeeping' is a clever twist on the term 'kinkeeping' (which describes how women often manage emotional connections within families).
Very clever. See what they did there? That's like dog-sitter (or house-sitter), sexting, or mocktail.
Dash cunning. What an unexpected twist!

You didn't provide any convincing reasons anyone should care about any of that or want to deal with it.

There's probably a middle ground.
I get tired of her shiat too.
Also, get therapy if you need therapy.
