Xander Schauffele questions 'seriousness' of YouTube golf query as his exclusive content app soars

Xander Schauffele has opened up about whether he has plans to start a YouTube channel after his exclusive content app's performance. The American golfer is preparing to compete this week at the 2025 US Open. He will tee off for the Major on Thursday, June 12.Ahead of the tournament, Schauffele attended a press conference on Monday, June 9, in which he was asked by a reporter if he wanted to create a YouTube channel. In response, the two-time Major winner said (via ASAP Sports):"Is that like a serious question?"He further talked about the content on the platform and what he watches on it."I watched some of the '16 coverage on YouTube. I would have watched it on any platform that would have been provided, but I watched some of that coverage there just to see sort of how guys were hitting shots and how the ball was reacting," he added.In the last few years, golfers have become very active on social media. This year’s US Open defending champion, Bryson DeChambeau, is pretty active on YouTube and boasts over 2 million subscribers on the platform. Tommy Fleetwood has also started his own YouTube channel, while LIV golfer Phil Mickelson has actively participated in various challenges with golf influencers on YouTube.Meanwhile, Schauffele launched an app earlier this year for exclusive behind-the-scenes content. The app is available to download for free on both the Android Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.Xander Schauffele reflects on his impressive stats at the US OpenXander Schauffele has been pretty impressive in the US Open in the last few years. Since making his debut at the Major in 2017, he has never had a finish outside the top-15.In his eight appearances at the Major, he has had seven finishes in the top-10 and only one outside the top-10. He settled in a tie for 14th in 2022. In a pre-tournament press conference of the 2025 US Open on Monday, Xander Schauffele was asked about his success in the Major.In response, the two-time Major winner said (via ASAP Sports):"I don't know, maybe I'm just sick and enjoy the challenge. Something about it playing really hard. I think a good attitude goes a long way. It's obviously easier said than done, hard to keep a good attitude through the entire stretch of 72 holes, nonetheless practice rounds as well. I don't know, I think they're a lot of fun."In 2024, Schauffele clinched two Major titles. It would be interesting to see if he could add a third Major to his accolades this week. The 2025 US Open is scheduled to take place at Oakmont Country Club from June 12 to 15.
