Alejandro Garnacho To Leave Manchester United Amid Interest From Chelsea: Report
@Source: news18.com
An intense row with coach Ruben Amorim could lead to Alejandro Garnacho’s departure from Manchester United. According to a report, the United winger is considering a move away from the Red Devils after his tussle with boss Amorim following a series of contentious events, starting with his absence from the starting XI for the Europa League final last month.
Garnacho didn’t feature in the team that lost the Europa League title to Tottenham 1-0 in the final played last month at the played at San Mamés in Bilbao, Spain.
The 20-year-old Argentine was subsequently left out of the club’s final game of a disappointing Premier League campaign at home against Aston Villa.
During United’s post-season Asian tour, Garnacho made the news for an ugly altercation with a fan.
The Sun has now revealed he is preparing for a move after being told by Amorim to find a new club.
The report claims Garnacho is attracting interest from other Premier League giants Chelsea and Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen. The rising winger has been linked with Leverkusen in a shift that could reunite him with former United head Erik ten Hag.
The young star reportedly wants to stay in the Premier League after leaving United.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr are also reportedly keen to have him on board.
Moving to Al-Nassr would’ve paved the way for Garnacho’s reunion with the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo after the latter’s brief stint with United.
While initial claims expected United to demand £50 million for Garnacho’s services, the club is now eyeing close to £70 million for their homegrown winger. But rival sides could look to drive the price down as Amorim makes it abundantly clear Garnacho is not part of his 2025-26 plans.
Expected to negotiate terms with another club soon, Garnacho has represented United 144 times and struck 26 goals apart from making 22 assists. He played 36 games in the Premier League this season and produced 6 goalscoring shots.
