AmaZulu Football Club (FC) President, Sandile Zungu has announced Primo Sports as the new technical sponsor in a five-year deal.
They replaced Ambro after a seven-year partnership.
The KwaZulu-Natal based soccer club becomes the second top-flight team to partner with Primo, following Magesi FC.
Zungu says the new deal is expected to bring fresh energy to the club’s image and provide new merchandising opportunities.
He says, “We have always felt that we are here for the supporters, one of the things that supporters complained about, we can’t access the brand, the apparel. We said we have a store in Moses Mabhida Stadium, they said that not always in Durban, now we have wait for summer to go to Durban to get a jersey. It was a usual complain.”
Primo’s Managing Director Gian Chidoni expressed excitement about partnering with iconic clubs like AmaZulu.
Chidoni says, “The focus for the beginning has been our supporters, the big goal which the club was aligned with, making the brand accessible and affordable to the supporters. Part of that, part of what Primo brings to the table is the supporters rage, so it will be a rage of casual wear, T- shirts, hoodies, which are items outside of replica jerseys.”
