DHAKA (Agencies): The Bangladesh cricket team have been given the green signal to tour Pakistan, with the government granting official approval to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to send the team.
Following heightened tensions between Pakistan and India, the BCB had sought permission from the government before confirming the tour. The Pakistan-Bangladesh series will go ahead as per the original schedule. The series is set to begin on May 27 and will comprise five T20 matches.
All matches are scheduled to take place in Faisalabad and Lahore.
Earlier, it was reported that the first T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh would be played in Faisalabad on May 25.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had agreed to send its team to Pakistan.
There are no security concerns in Pakistan and the series will take place across both scheduled venues.
Recently, Bangladeshi cricketer Rishad Hossain expressed concerns to local media regarding tensions between Pakistan and India.
Despite this, the Bangladeshi team is expected to play a five-match T20I series in Faisalabad and Lahore.
