It's been a solid start to the season for Celtic but you get the sense it's all been building up to this one. The Hoops' Champions League campaign gets started tonight as Kairat Almaty come to town with a place in the competition proper on the line. And the importance of a home result couldn't be more clear – after all, a Scottish side has never won away in Kazakhstan. Wins over St Mirren, Aberdeen and Falkirk have greased the wheels for Brendan Rodgers' side but they face a team deep into their domestic season who have already come through three European ties to get here. Victory over Slovan Bratislava in the last round showed they are no mugs and while Celtic are heavy favourites to progress, anything other than a convincing victory tonight will set up some nerves for next week's gruelling trip to central Asia.
