Real Madrid forward, Vinicius has expressed his love for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Brazilian revealed his admiration after helping his team defeat Manchester City 3-2 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 32 match on Tuesday.
Manchester City will go to Spain for their second leg next week.
The Brazil international regards Ronaldo as his idol and aspires to emulate some of his football feats.
Vinicius Jr. delivered an amazing effort versus City on Tuesday night. He stated that his motive was a banner raised by Manchester City fans taunting him over the 2024 Ballon d’Or dispute.
The Brazilian forward contributed to Brahim Diaz’s goal in the 86th minute and helped Jude Bellingham’s winner (90+2′).
UEFA recognized the attacker Player of the Match in recognition of his contributions to his team’s triumph.
After the game, the 24-year-old Brazil international gushed about Ronaldo, who is a legend in the Champions League and Los Blancos.
He revealed that he has a good relationship with the 40-year-old Portugal international and five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Vinicius, who was outstanding for Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season, spoke about his desire to lead the club to title wins like Ronaldo did between 2009 and 2018.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is my idol. I talk a lot to him. Hopefully I can win as much titles as he did at Real Madrid,” Vinicius said (via Madrid Xtra’s X handle).
