The cricketing world found its next big star on Monday (April 28) when 14-year-old star Vaibhav Suryavanshi shattered the record books with a knock of 101 in just 38 balls for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Aged 14 years, 32 days, Suryavanshi is the youngest player to not just score a half-century and century in the IPL but in any form of professional T20 cricket around the world. The youngster reached the milestone in just 35 balls, making it the second quickest ton in IPL history. Since his heroic effort, Suryanvashi has become the talk of the town with his ability to take on the best bowlers of the age at a young age, leaving the cricketing world spellbound. However, praise for him has not been limited to just the cricket fraternity. Formula 1 (F1) star Oscar Piastri also hailed Suryavanshi on Instagram. The Australian driver posted a story on the micro-blogging application and wrote '14' with a clapping emoji. Talking about Piastri, the McLaren driver has made a dream start to the 2025 season and is leading the standings with 99 points so far. He has won three of the five races so far with victories in China, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. The 24-year-old will be seen in action this weekend as after a one-week break post a triple header in Asia, the 2025 F1 season will move to the United States of America (USA) for the Miami Grand Prix. As far as Suryavanshi is concerned, he will now look to show the world that his knock against GT was not a one-off affair. The 14-year-old faces a big challenge on Thursday (May 1) when the Royals host Mumbai Indians (MI) where he is set to battle against Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah.
