Former Collector and former president of Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association K.M. Ahmad (90) passed away in the USA on April 25. He is survived by wife Salma and Daughter Ameena. Members of the VDCA, including its secretary K. Parthasaradhi, and other office-bearers condoled the death of Ahmad. The members also remembered that it was K.M. Ahmad, who requested Mr. Gulam Ahmed, the then Hon. Secretary, BCCI, to send National Coach Col. Hemu Adhikari to train Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) Under- 22 cricketers for one month in Visakhapatnam. The one-month coaching camp was organised by the VDCA under the directions of ACA, during July 1976.
