Haley Joel Osment has been charged with possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct after he was arrested in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., on Tuesday, April 8, for alleged public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.
On Thursday, April 17, the Mono County District Attorney's office said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE that the Sixth Sense actor, 37, was charged with the two misdemeanors. Osment is due to be arraigned in the Mammoth Lakes branch of the Mono County Superior Court on July 7, the District Attorney's office added.
The statement added that he was specifically charged with disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol in public and possession of cocaine.
"We don't have the test results yet. It can take about a month or so," a police sergeant told PEOPLE, adding that the department does not have its own lab, so they have to send evidence to the Department of Justice for testing. The sergeant added that the department plans to release body cam footage from the arrest.
TMZ was the first to report the news of Osment's arrest on Wednesday, April 16. Representatives for the actor did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
A police source told PEOPLE on Wednesday, April 16, that Osment was arrested at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area at Mill Base Lodge parking lot after police received a call regarding Osment's alleged "unruly conduct" on the mountain.
"The controlled substance right now is presumed to be cocaine. We sent it for testing. We will have the results soon," the source said at that time.

The Mono County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to PEOPLE that Osment was arrested by the Mammoth Lakes Police Department and provided a mugshot taken after the incident on April 16. The incident remains under investigation.
Disorderly conduct is punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 court fine in California, and the first offense for possession of cocaine carries a fine of at least $1,000 or community service
Osment most recently appeared on the big screen in the 2024 movie Blink Twice.
Back in January, his sister Emily Osment shared in a post on Instagram that Haley and their parents Michael and Theresa lost their homes in Altadena, Calif., during the wildfires that spread throughout the Los Angeles area that month.
Haley has had brushes with law enforcement in years past. In 2018, police were summoned when the actor had a public verbal scuffle at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas on Super Bowl Sunday. Back in 2006, when Haley was 18, he was charged with misdemeanor drunk driving after he was injured in a car accident. He later pled no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana, and was sentenced to three years probation.
