War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is one of the most talked-about films this year. The latest update is that the Telugu theatrical rights of the movie have been sold for a huge Rs 80 crore. According to a report by Gulte, producer Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments has bought the rights for the Telugu-speaking states. Earlier, Yash Raj Films was planning to handle the release in that region, but since Jr NTR has a massive fan following in Telugu states, they decided to team up with a local distributor instead.
Sources say the makers first quoted Rs 100 crore for the rights, but the final deal was closed at Rs 80 crore. This isn’t the first time Sithara Entertainments has bet big on Jr NTR, they also bought the Telugu rights for Devara, his upcoming film with Janhvi Kapoor, for Rs 120 crore.
War 2 is a sequel to the 2019 hit War, and is part of the YRF spy universe. The makers recently released the film’s teaser on Jr NTR’s birthday, along with character posters featuring Hrithik, NTR, and Kiara Advani. The film is already creating a lot of excitement before its release.
The teaser was strategically dropped by Yash Raj Films (YRF) as a special treat to mark Jr NTR’s birthday on May 20. The sneak peek offered fans a taste of the action and intense face-offs that await them in the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. Although it keeps many plot details under wraps, the teaser promises a riveting story, explosive stunts and epic battles between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
