Shamrock Rovers have maintained their nine-point lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division on Friday evening. Michael Noonan scored twice, including a goal early on in the sixth minute, with Roberto Lopes and Rory Gaffney joining him on the scoresheet. Alex Noonan got a goal back for Cork City in the 69th minute. Elsewhere, Waterford have beaten Bohemians by a goal. Two goals in quick succession at the end of the first half helped the victory, with Pádraig Amond converting a penalty and Coonan Noonan scoring mere minutes afterwards. Dawson Devoy got a goal back for the Bohs in the 71st minute, but the score ended 2-1 in Waterford's favour. Drogheda United have come out on top against Sligo Rovers. A goal in the third minute from Douglas James-Taylor proved to be enough. Galway United secured an impressive win 3-1 over St Patrick's Atheltic. Edward McCarthy set the tone for the game with a goal in the second minute, with David Hurley and Robert Slevin both joining him on the scoresheet in the first half.
