The BBC has confirmed when fans can watch the second season of Michelle Keegan's period drama, Ten Pound Poms.
The series follows a group of expats who quit post-war Britain in 1956 for a new life in Australia - with 37-year-old Michelle playing one of the lead character's, named Kate Thorne. Season one of the show hit screens way back in May 2023 - pulling in over six million viewers when it first aired.
Now, after almost two full years, fans will be able to discover what Michelle's character does next - as season two of the drama is finally set to be unleashed. The BBC confirmed their release date news on Wednesday - unveiling a sun-drenched trailer that showed highlights of upcoming episodes.
The teaser hints at trouble ahead for Michelle's Kate as she appears to have a possible custody battle on her hands as she's shown tearfully stating: "He's my boy. He belongs to me." While other characters share their excitement over the new lives they are building for themselves Down Under.
Fans don't have long to wait for the new episodes to arrive - as they are little over a week away, and the entire new season can be binged in full, should fans with. The BBC announced: "Ten Pound Poms will return for its second series on Sunday 9 March 2025, with all episodes on BBC iPlayer from 6am and the series beginning its weekly BBC One transmission from 8pm that evening."
Sharing details of the new episodes, a press release reveals: "[The characters] head into 1957, with nurse Kate Thorne (Michelle Keegan) trying to forge a future for herself after series one followed her journey to Australia in search of her son, Michael. For the Roberts family (led by Faye Marsay and Warren Brown), Terry is determined to find stability and put down roots, whilst Annie rediscovers herself and uncovers exciting opportunities Down Under."
It adds: "With each determined to make Australia everything they hoped it would be for a fresh start, will Kate, Terry and Annie finally get a slice of the Australian dream they were promised?" And hinting at possible tension for the characters, the statement adds: "A new character - the unscrupulous landlord Benny Bates (Marcus Graham) - is introduced and has some words of wisdom for Terry. Will he bring sunshine into our returning characters’ lives... or just more drama?"
Ten Pound Poms includes an impressive mix of acting talent - with Shameless and Luther star Warren Brown, 46, playing Terry Roberts - while Game of Thrones actress Faye Marsay, 38, plays Annie Roberts. Australian actor Rob Collins, 45, plays Ron Mohoney, while David Field, who appeared in The Inbetweeners 2, plays Dean Spender. Fellow Aussie Stephen Curry, 38, plays JJ Walker and The Tudors star Emma Hamilton, 40, plays Sheila Anderson.
Fans of Michelle will be aware she is set to give birth not just to her latest TV project - but also to life, after she announced she is pregnant with her first child. The actress took to social media at the end of last year to share her happy news.
Posing on a beach with reality star husband Mark Wright, the star wrote: "2025 is going to be a special one for us…" The image showed the actress wearing white - with her growing baby bump on display.
