@Source: thequint.com
For the first time in what has been an illustrious career, where he essentially ‘completed’ javelin by winning every medal he could have won, Neeraj Chopra finally managed to climb the solitary unscaled peak. On Friday (16 May), the two-time Olympics medallist breached the 90m mark — a feat that had eluded him till this event — registering a mammoth 90.23m throw at the Doha Diamond League 2025.With this achievement, Neeraj becomes only the third Asian to breach the 90m mark, following Chinese Taipei’s Cheng Chao-tsun and Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem. He is also the 25th javelin thrower to have crossed that mark, and currently sits 23rd on the list of the longest throws.Virat Kohli Was Not Among the Top 10 Test Batters, but He Was the Most ImpactfulHowever, despite Neeraj’s personal achievement, he could only secure second place at the Doha Diamond League. Germany’s Julian Weber, who had not crossed the 90m mark prior to this competition either, clinched first place with a stunning sixth throw that saw him registering 91.06m.Grenada’s Anderson Peters finished third with the best throw of 85.64m. Kishore Jena, the other Indian who was competing in this event, stood eighth with a 78.60m throw. (At The Quint, we question everything.
