The New England Patriots hoped to have found their left tackle of the future in this year's draft.New England selected offensive tackle Will Campbell to help beef up the offensive line. By picking him at No. 4 overall, the organization obviously expects big things from Campbell and for the rookie, it's been quite the adjustment from college to the NFL."I'm a rookie. There's a lot of stuff that I'm trying to work on and become better to become the type of player I want to become. So, it's everything," Campbell told MassLive's Mark Daniels. "A big curve from college football to the NFL. There's so many things that you try to come out here and get better with every single rep."Campbell was well-known in college for not allowing a single sack in his three seasons at LSU. He is already responsible for a sack allowed this preseason, but despite that, he is still making a good impression within the organization."Will's been solid. He's getting better every day," said Patriots executive VP of player personnel Eliot Wolf, per Daniels. "We're excited about what he can do. (His) play style is phenomenal. He's only getting better each other."For Campbell, the matchups won't be any easier headed toward the final week of the preseason and the first week of the regular season. New England's next two games will be against the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders.That means there is a good possibility that Campbell will have to match up against any combination of Brian Burn, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter and Maxx Crosby.
