AN ICONIC noughties game show set to rebooted has had a major update.
The BBC is set to make a new pilot of the hit format next month, 16 years after the last series.
Hole in the Wall was the show where celebrities competed in two teams as they had to contort themselves to fit through a giant moving wall.
Two teams of stars had to manage their position to fit through the cut-out holes of varying shapes to compete for £10,000.
They would have to stop themselves from getting knocked into a swimming pool as the giant polystyrene panel came towards them.
It has now been confirmed that the hit game show will get a pilot for a prospective series on BBC One.
TV Zone reports that recording of the show will take place on Thursday, April 10.
This comes after The Sun first reported that Alison Hammond is set to take the reins of the reboot.
A source previously told us: "Hole In The Wall got great ratings when it first came out so the Beeb have decided to bring it back.
"They are currently filming the pilot to see how it shapes up. They wanted to sign Alison and she jumped at the chance to do it...
"She’s one of TV’s most in demand stars right now and the Beeb is over the moon that they’ve signed her."
Our insider added: "Alison adores her job and is always on the lookout for shows where she can have a real laugh -that’s why she loves presenting Bake Off and This Morning. They are light-hearted and fun."
She also fronts another BBC show, Alison Hammond’s Florida Unpacked which sees her go on tour with her son.
There were only two series of Hole in the Wall, which first aired on BBC One in 2008.
The first season of the show saw radio DJ and Supermarket Sweep personality Dale Winton front the hit show.
A year later, Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke took over hosting duties.
British cricketer Darren Gough, rugby union player Austin Healey and EastEnders actor Joe Swash were the team captains.
Names to compete on the show included Phil Tufnell, Andi Peters and Vanessa Feltz.
