Kaveri Kapur, the daughter of filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, is ready to make her acting debut with the upcoming romantic comedy film Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story opposite Vardhaan Puri. The film’s trailer was recently unveiled giving a glimpse into Kunal Kohli’s romantic drama set in Cambridge. Ahead of the film’s OTT premiere, the makers held a special screening in Mumbai, drawing the likes of several Bollywood A-list actors including Shekhar Kapoor’s Mr India star Anil Kapoor. While both Kaveri Kapur and Vardhaan Puri were spotted greeting the guests at the screening, they were joined by the actress’ parents. Despite their strained relationship in the past, the former couple left no stone unturned as they came forward to support their daughter on her big day. In videos circulating on social media, Kaveri Kapur could be seen embracing her parents as they appeared at the screening while also posing with them for pictures. Even though the relationship ended up sour, resulting in a divorce, they continue to co-parent their daughter. Suchitra in an interview even confessed that the issues between them affected their daughter deeply. Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, the actress explained how everything reported about them is from an outsider’s perspective that she and Shekhar will always remain a parent to the daughter. “We are still parenting our child together. We are parents to a daughter and that relationship will always be there. I even tell him that he is a very good and committed father. My daughter is closer to him than she is to me,” the Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa actor added. While she went on a sabbatical immediately after, Suchitra marked her comeback on OTT with projects like Odd Couple and Guilty Minds. Kaveri Kapur is cast opposite Vardhaan Puri, the late legendary actor Amrish Puri’s grandson in the Kunal Kohli film. It premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on February 11.
