Sochke Mooh Kholna: Ex-India Batter Lashes Out At Jasprit Bumrah Critics Over 'We Lost When He Played' Remarks
@Source: timesnownews.com
Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif went on a rant against Jasprit Bumrah critics following the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, where a young Indian team led by Shubman Gill put up a heroic display and drew the series 2-2. In a decision that was announced before the series started, Bumrah played only three of the five games. Despite Bumrah impressing with 14 wickets in three games that included a five-wicket haul, the Indian team did not win any of those three games. However, they won both games; Bumrah did not play at Edgbaston and Manchester. Mohammad Kaif Slams Jasprit Bumrah Critics Kaif warned critics to be careful while speaking and pointed out that the 31-year-old has given several match-winning performances. The ex-India batter pointed to a comment made by him earlier this month, where he claimed Bumrah will soon retire from Test cricket, but claimed there are no issues in T20 cricket. You better look at how many matches he has played and India won them, go and find out that as well, regardless of the format. When he plays, how many times does he give match-winning performances? Go and find that stat as well. Bumrah is a promising diamond of India. You do not report him. There are no stains on him," Kaif said on his YouTube channel. "I already said that Bumrah might not be seen playing long in Tests, but in white-ball cricket, if India comes in the Asia Cup final, then he might play seven games. He will bowl 28 overs (four overs per match), and I am speaking about a two or three-week-long tournament. There is no problem in bowling 28 overs; he will get time to recover. You can rest him in one odd match against Oman or weaker teams. After workload management and a break, he will be used. I think he would not face any issues in bowling four overs. You need Bumrah in T20 because he can change the course of the game with his bowling," Kaif added.
