Not about water but about stuff we take into our bodies in general. The jist was "we don't eat enough sh*t". It talked about how if we don't get enough germs then our bodies won't be able to generate the needed antibodies to fight infection, sickness, whatever. As a long time (like over 40 years) abuser of booze I am surprised that after 8 months of being sober how much better I feel. I also was never a worrier about germs, getting sick, drinking tap water, you know stuff like that. My rule for food on the floor was did I want to eat it? Was it still looking good, not dirty looking? I have met people that would be scared of everything including food in res truants. I just never really cared. I also never needed to take any prescription drugs (though the Dr. did try for blood pressure stuff). I always heard that once you do that, you do that forever. Since mine would vary, I decided not to go that route. What do you know, with no drinking it is fine. I know people my age (early 60s) that take 5 or 6 meds a day. They lived a hell of a lot healthier than me (of course they have more money but I had much more fun in a year than most did in their lives). I am now poor and sober but still don't know if I would trade my life for theirs. I still have my health I guess and have no problem moving around. Some of them don't move around so good either. Never really heard about the plastic in the bottled water that much but I guess it makes sense it would be there though I would have thought they would be able to make a bottle that did not shed. I tend to believe that the "we don't eat enough sh*t"is valid. Overall my tap water comes in under all the stuff they test for and because I am in Michigan we overall have decent drinking water to start with. Like I said this article reminded me what I read of long ago so I thought I would share. fragMasterFlash (0) Funniest 5 hours ago How soon will the rich and famous start paying for cerebral system high colonics? (3) Funniest 4 hours ago Tom Lehrer - Pollution North_Central_Positronics (3) Funniest 2 hours ago I had to quit tap water because I got addicted to fluoride. I was drinking it before, during, and after work as well (as weekends!) I'd have a huge drink before a hike and then I'd come home and the first thing I'd do is drink some more and then pass out on the couch in a massive fluoride crash. iat got so bad, I was in the bathroom urinating constantly. No, I'm on the straight path of bottled water now. Been clean two weeks and I already feel less fluoridey. There have been at least 3 boil orders for tap water since we have lived here. Once was for Thallium contamination. I will risk bottled water, thanks. The Irresponsible Captain (0) Funniest less than a minute ago abhorrent1 (0) Funniest less than a minute ago Well what I usually do is buy a case of water once in a while and as I drink it, I just refill the bottles from the tap and reuse them. I'm guessing that's probably worse. Displayed 16 of 16 comments Enable JavaScript for Fark in order to vote for entries. Log in (at the top of the page) to enable voting.
