THIS week, Badminton Papua New Guinea is hosting an inspiring initiative that highlights how para-athletes can discover their purpose and create pathways to success through sport.
Para sport legend Wojtek Czyz and Badminton Oceania’s Dhanny Oud are leading transformative coaching sessions for para badminton athletes, preparing them for the VICTOR Oceania Para Badminton Championships 2025.
Beyond the training sessions, Czyz will visit communities around Port Moresby to inspire the next generation by introducing children to badminton and sharing his powerful story of triumph as a para-athlete.
It’s a remarkable example of how sport can empower individuals with disabilities and unite communities.
Czyz is a four-time paralympic champion, representing Germany in track and field three times (Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012) before switching allegiance to New Zealand and competing in the Paris 2024 Olympics in badminton.
