Donald Trump reveals 'inappropriate' reason he fell out with Jeffrey Epstein

Donald Trump has revealed why his relationship with late billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein soured, stating "he did something inappropriate." The US President said he fell out with Epstein when the billionaire poached an employee from him after he was warned not to do it again. Speaking at Turnberry golf course in Scotland today, where he met Prime Minister Keir Starmer , Mr Trump told reporters: "That's such old history, but I don't want to waste your time by explaining it. "For years I wouldn't talk to Jeffrey Epstein," Mr Trump continued. Reporters had been asking about the rift that led Mr Trump to ban Epstein from Mar-a-Lago, his club in Palm Beach, Florida. "He did something that was inappropriate," Mr Trump said. "He hired help and I said don't ever do that again. He stole people that worked for me." Mr Trump said Epstein became "persona non grata." He added: "I threw him out, and that was it. I’m glad I did, if you want to know the truth. A White House spokesperson said last week that Mr Trump threw Epstein out for "being a creep." Before his death, Epstein called Mr Trump his "closest friend" and bragged of his friendship with Mr Trump and his wife Melania. Mr Trump and Epstein had a falling out before the paedophile's heinous abuse of children was exposed in 2008 and there is no evidence that the US President knew of them prior to his arrest. Virginia Giuffre, who died this year by suicide, was abused by Epstein and claimed she was recruited as a teenager and was exploited by Epstein while she worked as a spa attendant at Mar-a-Lago. There is no evidence that Mr Trump was aware of this at the time. Following Epstein's death in a Manhattan prison cell in 2019, ruled a suicide, Mr Trump claimed he would be willing to release files regarding the billionaire. But his ratings have plummeted in recent weeks as Mr Trump appears unwilling to pursue the Epstein case further. This has fractured Mr Trump's once fiercely loyal base, who are now clamouring for more answers and for more information about Epstein, his death and apparent high profile connections to be made public. Questions about their relationship have been raised in recent week following failed promises by Trump administration members, such as Attorney General Pam Bondi, that the files would be released. Ms Bondi has since instructed the Department of Justice to request the unsealing of grand jury testimony about Epstein. But Mr Trump's approach to Epstein has contributed to his collapsing poll numbers. The Silver Bulletin , run by pollster Nate Silver, saying Mr Trump's approval rating hit a new low last week of -10.3. It noted it had improved slightly as of July 28 with a net approval ratting of -8.
