Hyderabad: A free mega surgical correction and health camp for persons with disabilities will be held at Samskruti, Raj Bhavan Community Hall, Somajiguda, on Monday, August 18. Organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (Hyderabad branch) along with various trusts and hospitals, the camp will offer surgeries, health check-ups, diagnostic tests, eye exams, and nutritional support. Free spectacles, callipers, wheelchairs, and motorised vehicles will be distributed.Governor Jishnu Dev Varma will inaugurate the event at 11 am, in the presence of district collector Harichandana Dasari, minister Adluri Laxman, and principal secretary Dana Kishore. Organisers said the initiative aims to promote accessible healthcare and mobility support for people with disabilities. Organisers, including Red Cross Society Chairman M. Bheem Reddy, Disabled Trust CEO Dr Vijay Bhaskar, and representatives from disability rights groups, stated that the initiative aims to provide better healthcare access and mobility support for persons with disabilities.
