More companies identify with Ibadan Industrial Soccer Tourney

Ibadan industrial Football Competition established in 2020 by Adewale Transnational Football Concept Ltd has continued to attract wider recognition and acceptability among big companies and industries in Ibadan.
The motive of the tournament according to Coach Adewale Michael is to provide an enabling platform for industrial workers who are unable to participate in regular football activities due to their tight work schedules.
The Tournament which is being played on Sundays at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium formerly Liberty Stadium has also served as a valuable avenue for ex-players to connect with other talented individuals.
“The competition fosters harmonious relationships among players, team officials, and spectators.”
Considering the popularity of the competition within the Ibadan industrial hub, it has attracted substantial support for players from the company’s management in terms of both financial and material rewards for players,” Adewale noted.

He added that some companies even used to go as far as purchasing adequate equipment that could aid their performance for their players.
Rom Oil won the maiden edition of the tournament in 2020 while the team for Young Shall Grow company emerged the champion of the 2021 edition. In 2022, Quantum became the winner, while the Polaris Bank football team was crowned as the 2023 winner and Sudit Oil is the defending champion having won last year’s edition.
“Moreover, employment opportunities have been extended to some of the talented players, thus providing them with a means of livelihood and encouraging them to showcase their skills.”
