Mukesh Kumar Bowls A Yorker-Of-The-Tournament Contender To Shock Mitchell Marsh | Watch
@Source: news18.com
Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Mukesh Kumar delivered a ball-of-IPL 2025 contender to clean-bowl Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Mitchell Marsh against the run of play at the Ekana Stadium on Tuesday (April 22). Marsh was visibly surprised and even Mukesh seemed to take some time to realise what he had done.
It happened on the last ball of the 14th over. Marsh came to strike after David Miller took a single on the last ball. Mukesh aimed for the yorker at stumps, but the ball reverse swung, swirling to Miller’s off-stump with the shine and not dipping until the very base of the timber. Marsh just couldn’t get his bat to it.

It was a crucial match-turning over from Mukesh. When the over started, LSG were at 107/2 after 13 overs but on the second ball, he got rid of Abdul Samad. The right-hander, who usually plays as a finisher, tried to drive back a length ball from the pacer but ended up timing it back to the bowler.
Mukesh took two more wickets in that innings. He bowled the last over and though the first three balls went to boundaries, he bowled Ayush Badoni on the fourth and made the final one to divert off Rishabh Pant’s pads onto his stumps. His spell of 4/33 helped to keep LSG down to a sub-par 159/6.
“The wicket is on the slower side but still I feel we are short of runs,” Badoni said in the mid-innings break, as quoted by Cricbuzz. “I think 180 (would have been a par score). With the right plan, hitting good areas and fielding well can help us. (Impact Player ploy of LSG) That’s the strategy for Mayank but last game it executed well, so let’s hope this game also we win and the strategy works.”
LSG are placed fifth in the points table with five wins from eight matches while Delhi Capitals are second with five wins from seven outings.
