Pete Wicks has thrown some serious shade at his ex, Maura Higgins, following their sudden break up last month. The former TOWIE star, 36, was in a whirlwind romance with Love Island's Maura, 34, from last summer until just recently. It's been suggested that Maura, who first caught our attention on Love Island in 2019, found out Pete had been messaging "loads" of other women online. Their split is also rumoured to have followed a string of arguments, despite both seeming to fight for their relationship when it first started last year. Pete was put through his paces with a rigorous rehearsal schedule after signing up for the 2024 season of Strictly Come Dancing, where he was paired with Jowita Przystał. Meanwhile, Maura flew off to Australia to take part in ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! After reuniting back in London, fans watched as the pair appeared to fall head over heels for each other - with romantic date nights in the city and rumours they were cohabiting. Following their sudden split, Pete took a dig at his ex while chatting with his mate Sam Thompson on their Staying Relevant podcast. When asked, "What would I banish in the world?" Pete cheekily responded: "Erm, Love Island", reports the Mirror. A giggling Sam then commented: "That's so aggressive." Pete spilled the beans about how he really feels regarding reality TV chitchat saying, "It takes over everything, that's all anyone talks about for f**king three months of the year. It's very difficult to have small talk with people when that's their reference because I don't know anything about it." His co-star Sam also chimed in, admitting, "Let's be honest I can't imagine you hanging out with people who say, 'When's the nearest episode of Love Island?'" To which Pete confessed, "No but even when I walk through the office ... just no." This comes after Maura is at the centre of a media storm following a leaked photo of her sharing a boozy smooch with McFly's Danny Jones, whom she got to know on I'm A Celeb. Although Danny, who tied the knot with former Miss England beauty Georgia Horsley in 2014 and has a seven year old son Cooper with her, stayed silent about the kiss, his devoted followers did not hold back. Amidst the chaos, Georgia, 38, dropped a new episode of her podcast, Mum's The Word, without any hints of hubby issues, leaving everyone guessing. Fans keen to keep up with the drama were quick to rush to Danny's Insta, flooding his latest posts with comments. Some expressed their dismay, lamenting, "Oh danny you had it all man," while others showed heartbreak over the snog with remarks such as, "Oh Danny, why?" complete with a broken heart emoji.
