Suryavanshi’s Stunning Numbers In England
Having stormed into the limelight earlier this year when he blasted a record-breaking IPL century, the Bihar batter continues to prove he’s not a one-trick pony. During the Youth ODI series, he smashed 355 runs – the most in the series – from five matches at a stunning strike-rate of 174.02 while averaging 71. He belted 30 fours and 29 sixes. He also scored a blazing century during the series – 143 off mere 52 deliveries while breaking the record for the quickest century in Youth ODIs. India won the series 3-2.
Suryavanshi’s IPL Numbers
After becoming the youngest in IPL history to land a contract at the two-day mega auction, Suryavanshi backed the hype with on-field performances. On debut, he sent the very first ball of his IPL career soaring over the boundary for a stunning six. And then he scored a jawdropping century, off just 35 deliveries – becoming the quickest Indian to do so in the tournament’s history. At 14 years and 32 days, he became the youngest man to hit a T20 century, surpassing the previous record of 18 years and 118 days held by Vijay Zol.
In debut IPL season, Suryavanshi scored 252 runs from seven innings at a strike-rate of 206.55. He struck one century and a half-century.
