Wallaroos head coach Jo Yapp is wary of the Vodafone Fijiana side when they host them at the HFC Bank Stadium at 5pm this Saturday. This was after he trimmed his side and named eight debutants in his 30-member squad including Australian sevens star and Olympian Charlotte Caslick. “We’ve had a fantastic four days in camp and have selected a squad that we are looking to grow and develop as a side. “The block of four Test matches coming up is all about growth and connection as we look to build into the World Cup in August with new and existing combinations. “Fijiana will provide a challenge for us first in Suva and allow us to prepare well leading into the Pacific Four series,” Yapp told rugby.com.au. “For those players that have missed selection they will continue to play a huge part in the coming months.” Star centre Georgina Friedrichs and hooker Adiana Talakai are amongst the players set to miss the trip. Friedrichs was ruled out after picking up a finger injury with the NSW Waratahs during the Super Rugby Champions final against the Blues, ending a 29-game Test streak for the centre. Meanwhile, Talakai left the camp and the group due to personal reasons. On top of this, veteran playmaker Arabella McKenzie has been left out of the squad, leaving Faitala Moleka, Lori Cramer and Hinds as the main flyhalf options for the first Test of the season.
